Quality of Life
Protecting what makes Burlington special while improving the livelihoods of its residents.
Quality of life is what residents experience after the speeches and budget meetings are over. It's the time spent or lost getting across the city. It's whether a child can join a recreation program, whether a senior can reach an appointment, whether a neighbourhood park is clean and welcoming, whether a home is better protected from flooding, and whether Burlington's waterfront feels like a public treasure for every generation. Rory's goal is to make City Hall's work visible in the daily lives of residents to deliver high quality of life.
Transportation is one of the clearest examples. Rory has pointed to Guelph Line, where buses stopping in a live traffic lane can block a major route during rush hour. Rory has called for practical solutions that reduce congestion, improve transit reliability, and give residents realistic transportation choices without setting drivers and transit riders against one another. Burlington needs practical improvements that reduce congestion, improve reliability, and give residents realistic transportation choices.
Quality of life also means having amazing amenities in our community. Rory's vision for Burlington's waterfront would create the best lakeside family destination in North America, which means more greenspace, play areas, family-friendly amenities, and public gathering spaces accessible to every resident. He is also committed to expanding recreation options across the city, including more ice time, improved park facilities, and greater access to childcare and after-school programming.
And let's not forget: a city where every family feels safe in their neighbourhood.
A city where you can feel safe, can get around, and have somewhere to take your family. That's the Promise of Burlington.
